Visitors to next month’s WATCHPRO Salon may be the first in the world to see a new Grand Sport Tourbillon Golden Brown from legendary watchmaker Laurent Ferrier.
WATCHPRO Salon takes place at 5-star The Londoner Hotel on Leicester Square from November 11 to 12.
The Laurent Ferrier watch, which launches today, is made entirely from 18ct red gold for its case and integrated bracelet, which complement a dial in shades of chocolate brown that fades from dark at the outside to lighter in the centre.
“This timepiece exudes the comforting golden colours of autumn, the warm hues of red gold drawing a sublime contrast with the enchanting chocolate-coloured opaline dial. This interplay between gold and brown on the dial gives the piece an added touch of intrigue, a charisma that is both captivating and elegant,” Laurent Ferrier says.
Only 24 of the Golden Brown are being made
As with all previous versions of the Grand Sport Tourbillon, the watch has the signature drop-shaped hour-markers and Assegai-shaped hands, this time in rose gold and slightly enlarged to make space for white Super-LumiNova.
The sensuous curves of the 44mm watch are accentuated by a domed sapphire crystal over the dial, which give it a more rounded profile from side on.
Laurent Ferrier is famous for its tourbillon movements, and won the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève prize for its Classic Tourbillon in 2010.
The Golden Brown Grand Sport Tourbillon uses this movement, although it has been given a more contemporary finish using a combination of satin brushed and mirror polished elements, which can be seen through a crystal case back.
Laurent Ferrier’s Golden Brown Grand Sport Tourbillon is priced at CHF 225,000 plus tax.
