Triwa x Mind watch aims to help men talk about their mental health

It has a heat-reactive dial that reacts to the user’s body temperature, reflecting the mood of the wearer.

Triwa has made a watch with suicide prevention Swedish charity Mind that changes colour to reflect the mood of the wearer.

The timepiece, called Time to Talk, is designed to encourage men to speak more openly about their feelings and mental health.

It has a heat-reactive dial that reacts to the user’s body temperature, reflecting the mood of the wearer.

Mind and Triwa hope to highlight the importance of meaningful conversations and lower the threshold for talking about how we feel. At the same time, it is a new way to increase awareness and raise money for Mind’s important work.

Released ahead of Christmas, Mind says that calls to its suicide helpline increase as the holiday season approaches.

“In the last two years, the pandemic has also caused increased mental illness. Many men live in a distinct culture of silence, making it harder to talk about difficulties in life. This initiative is an unexpected way to raise a taboo topic in a target group that is hard to reach,” says Karin Schulz, secretary general of Mind.

Along with the mood-sensing dial, the back of the watch has Sweden’s national suicide helpline number 90101 engraved on it.

The €189 watch is sold exclusively on Triwa.com, with proceeds from each sale going to Mind.
