Robert-Jan Broer, founder of Fratello Watches and Omega Speedmaster enthusiast club, Speedy Tuesday, will hold a talk about his life’s work on the Saturday of this year’s WATCHPRO Salon.
WATCHPRO Salon is the UK’s largest and most prestigious watch show with around 50 premium independent brands presenting their latest timepieces including Czapek, Grand Seiko, Laurent Ferrier, Oris, Parmigiani Fleurier, Doxa, and many more.
It runs from Friday, November 11 to Saturday, November 12 at The Londoner Hotel on London’s Leicester Square.

“I will do a talk about the Speedy Tuesday community and how it all came about,” reveals Mr Broer.
“Speedy Tuesday started in 2012, and resulted in a large community consisting of Speedmaster enthusiasts and collectors. Instagram played a huge role, as the #SpeedyTuesday hashtag helped to make the circle of Speedmaster collectors more visible and easier to reach out to each other,” he describes.
Speedy Tuesday is so established and respected that Omega has worked with the community on a number of special editions including a Speedmaster Professional “Speedy Tuesday” watch to mark the community’s fifth anniversary in 2017 and the Speedmaster Speedy Tuesday “Ultraman” in 2018 that sold out in 90 minutes.
In a presentation from midday to 1pm on Saturday, November 12, Mr Broer will talk about how Speedy Tuesday started by accident and grew out to be what it is today.
He will also answer questions on the role of Omega and Fratello and reveal how it was to work together with such a large brand on designing a watch.
After the talk, there’s time to meet up with Speedmaster enthusiasts in a private room at WATCHPRO Salon where people can share their passion for the legendary Omega chronograph.
Speedy Tuesday members will be receiving a special voucher before the London watch show that will give them a 50% discount off the WATCHPRO Salon ticket price.
