Snoopy — like sex — sells.
For evidence, look no further than the secondary market price of Omega’s 50th anniversary Speedmaster Moonwatch with Snoopy featuring in both a sub dial on the front and an animation on the back of the watch.
It was on sale for under £9000, new, but will cost you over £30,000, unworn, on the secondary market.
Bamford London has long been tuned into this opportunity, and is stretching its influence into the American market by producing a Snoopy version of its cushion-cased GMT watch in collaboration with media giant turned etailer, Hodinkee.
The Bamford x Peanuts “Joe Preppy” GMT Limited Edition For Hodinkee features Snoopy in his dapper Joe Preppy ensemble on a brown dial.
Joe Preppy stands in the middle of the watch’s dial, his outstretched paws telling the local time while his ever-present bird buddy, Woodstock, is engaged in a continuous 24-hour flight around the dial, operating as the watch’s GMT hand.
The 40mm steel watch is powered by an automatic Sellita SW330-2 movement.
It is on sale with Hodinkee from today, April 12, for $1,850 in a special Hodinkee branded kennel.
