Military watch specialist Marathon has slimmed down its latest rugged timepieces to bring them into line with current tastes for less bulk on the wrist.
The Canadian-based company has been broadening its distribution in markets including the UK with the aim of attracting more regular consumers outside the armed forces.
41mm Steel Navigators with date are just 11mm thick, but retain all the attributes that have made Marathon watches successful for American, Canadian and other militaries in war time.
In particular, the watch still use tritium gas tubes to light up hands and hour markers, making them perfectly readable in the dark.
They use high accuracy and dependable ETA F06.412 HeavyDrive-PreciDrive Quartz movements.
There are two types of black nylon straps on offer, with prices for the watches at $800 or $830.
