Sea turtle conservation gets a boost from Certina’s DS-2 dive watches

Certina’s DS-2 collection is being extended this year with three fresh models including a special edition in titanium that will raise money for the Sea Turtle Conservancy.

Certina’s DS-2 dive watches are instantly recognisable for their barrel-shaped cases, flat dials and bold unidirectional rotating bezels, and the collection is being extended this year with three fresh models including a special edition in titanium that will raise money for the Sea Turtle Conservancy.

For under $1,000, Certina is offering a watch with heritage stretching back to the 1960s that uses modern anti-reflective sapphire crystal and houses an ETA Powermatic 80.611 automatic movement with Nivachron hairspring and a power reserve of 80 hours.

That is value for money.

There are steel versions of the 42 x 41 mm watches with dark blue or black satin-brushed dials, both sold with optional steel bracelets or fabric straps and priced at £735 to £785.

Perhaps the most desirable is the titanium model on a black, blue and grey strap made from recycled plastic recovered from the ocean, which is available for £860, with a percentage of the price assigned to saving sea turtles.
