Belgian watchmaker Ressence has taken the essence of a turbo-charged Automobili Amos Lancia Delta Futurista rally car and turned it into a 40-piece limited edition timepiece designed to appeal to motoring aficionados.
The Type 5X was designed in conjunction with Eugenio Amos, founder of Automobili Amos, who wanted to design a driver’s watch with functions related to time and cars.
It has a dark olive green dial with red and amber markers that give the watch face the feel of a dashboard. It even has an oil temperature feature, a nod to the oil-filled watches Ressence produces.
On the bezel, Ressence has marked out time according to the warm up, driving of a race and warm down time a turbo-charger requires.
The bezel is divided into distinct parts. First is a section dedicated to the warmup of the engine, which takes 15 minutes. Next there is an S for Start, D for Drive and R for Race. Finally, there is another 10 minute interval matching the cooling time required by a turbo.
It comes in a 46mm titanium case with domed sapphire glass front and back and housing a customised 2824/2 automatic calibre.
It goes on sale this month for €34,200.
