Reservoir expands GT Tour Racing family with new RSV-240 calibre

Two new racing car inspired GT Tour Racing watches from Reservoir

Last month saw Reservoir launch two new watch models in the GT Tour Racing family – the GT Tour Racing and the GT Tour Spring Lap. Both references benefit from upgraded finishes and are powered by the new Reservoir RSV-240 calibre.

The four-time GPHG-nominated French-Swiss brand is known for its unique designs inspired by vintage gauges used in cars, aeronautics and maritime industries.

The GT Tour Racing collection is a range of racing car speedometers for the wrist and the new model is an homage to the rules and the world of modern motor racing, where the innovative technology is continually evolving.Reservoir pwwkyzjv reservoir gt tour springlap 34 steelstrap

The GT Tour Spring Lap is a tribute to the iconic car races that took place in the three decades between 1960 and 1990, specifically the RPM counter that is the last thing a driver looks at before a race gets underway.

The matte black dial adheres to the rules of the ‘classic’ car race. Atop a snailed track, a single green hour hand traverses a large arc-shaped indicator, connecting with Arabic numerals and clear markers spaced at six-minute intervals, the large digits resembling rev counter numbers. Every hour, as the hand reaches the 6 it jumps back to its starting place.

A window at 6 o’clock displays the current hour, which jumps forward as the minute hand jumps back. The power reserve indicator below takes the form of a fuel gauge.

The 43mm steel cased model is offered with a perforated black calf leather strap with green stitching or a steel bracelet. Another NATO strap is also included with the watch.

The GT Tour Racing is a resolutely more contemporary version and is influenced by the components found in the world’s fastest and most resilient cars, including those used in Formula 1 where carbon is a crucial component to achieve extraordinary performance.

To that end, the dial of the 43mm GT Tour Racing Lap is composed completely of woven carbon fibre, which gives the timepiece a distinctively bold and sporty appearance. The green accents are replaced with red and the timepiece is available on a steel bracelet or with a calf-leather strap.

The watches are powered by the brand-new RSV-240 calibre made in partnership with Swiss manufacture Telos, which also developed the 124-piece P068 module that has provided the retrograde minutes and jumping hours functions plus 37-hour power reserve on all Reservoir watches since its founding in 2017.Reservoir egnfn6oh reservoir gt tour springlap back

The new RSV-240 calibre benefits from the new P168 module with several optimisations including a 56-hour extended power reserve. All the movement are made by Telos’s master watchmakers in La Chaux-de-Fonds, and assembled in Neufchâtel. The movement can be seen through the exhibition caseback on each model.

Prices for the watches start at £3,950.
