Rado has returned to its favoured ceramic for a fresh collection of Captain Cook diver’s watches.
The watchmaker describes itself as a master of materials, and its ceramic pieces are certainly its most iconic.
2021 watches have tinted crystal dials giving a view into the Rado R734 skeletonised movement with its anti-magnetic Nivachron hairspring and 80 hour power reserve.
Captain Cook watches have become a successful line for Rado since their reintroduction in 2017. The collection has grown to include a 42mm steel version and a model in bronze launched in 2020.
“It is therefore a logical next step to produce this very iconic timepiece in high-tech ceramic, which perfectly combines the Rado past with the present,” says Adrian Bosshard, Rado CEO.
Four versions of the 43mm Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic are launching this year. Three have matte black ceramic cases and bracelets with black ceramic inserts in a steel bezel.
There is the option of a black rubber strap.
A fourth has a gun metal grey finish and a blue bezel.
They are on sale now priced from £3,065 to to £3,530.
