Chopard zagato

Product: Chopard’s Mille Miglia Zagato Chronograph

The Mille Miglia Zagato is the culmination of the partnership between Chopard and Milan-based car bodywork specialist Zagato.

The timepiece represents the best from both companies, which have respective skills and both nurture a passion for cars.

While Chopard focuses on the engine part of the watch and the chassis, Zagato has stamped its mark on the bodywork and the upholstery.

Chopard has long had associations with motorsports, and is now in its 25th year as sponsor and official timekeeper of the Mille Miglia motor race.

This Chopard Mille Miglia watch has undergone the Zagato personalisation process, and was created via dialogue between the two companies.

The watch houses a COSC-certified self-winding chronograph movement with date and dual-time displays. Chosen by Chopard for its reliability and sturdiness, this is the calibre that generally drives the Mille Miglia watches.

A 42.5 mm steel case with a DLC coating has been chosen for its scratch-resistant properties. One version is all black and the other is fitted with a rose gold bezel, featuring a red insert bearing the 24-hour dual-time graduation.

The start/stop chronograph pusher matches the colour of the bezel – either black or in rose gold. In both versions it has a red-lacquered tip, which is a nod to the symbolic colour of both Zagato and the Mille Miglia. The strap has been given details that are recognisably Zagato, such as the company’s signature bright red stitching on leathern and additionally, there is a Z on the crown.

The Mille Miglia Zagato is issued in a 500-piece limited series for the black DLC-coated steel version and the same number for the two-tone version with an 18-carat rose gold finish.
