Piaget produces its Polo Date in emerald green

“The Piaget Polo is an ode to the charismatics, to the trendsetters, the risk-takers, the celebration makers, who live their life to the fullest,” the brand says.

Piaget’s elegant and sporting Polo is the perfect alternative to a Patek Philippe Nautilus or Aquanaut but, until now, you could not get the 42mm Polo Date in steel, which launched in 2022, with anything other than a black dial.

That changes today with the introduction of the Piaget Polo Field in a emerald green with a matching coloured rubber strap that can be swapped out for a steel bracelet.

Cleverly choosing its target market, Piaget says the watch pays homage to the original polo fields and vibrant lawns of West Palm Beach in Florida, where the Piaget World Cup polo tournament is held.

The beauty of the Polo is that it cannot be accused of being derivative of its obvious competitors from Patek Philippe since the collection also dates back to the 1970s, and makes its own statement using Piaget design codes from across its jewellery and watches.

“The Piaget Polo is an ode to the charismatics, to the trendsetters, the risk-takers, the celebration makers, who live their life to the fullest,” the brand says.

Piaget Polo Field in emerald green has a horizontally brushed steel bezel.

It uses Piaget’s 1110P automatic movement, which has a power reserve of 50 hours.

Visible from the underside of the watch, the movement has a slate grey oscillating weight decorated with the Côtes de Genève stamp and Piaget coat-of-arms.

The green Polo date is slightly more expensive than the black-dialled original at £11,500 on the rubber strap.
