Piaget has appointed Valerie Gallet as brand director for the UK, a new role created by the Richemont-owned jeweller and watch business, and signal of the increasing importance of this market to the organisation.

Ms Gallet is reporting to Sylvain Auroux, general manager Europe, who says the brand director role is essential as the company considers the UK market as a key target for growth in watches and jewellery.

“The brand has ambitious plans to expand its presence across the UK and bring the story of its heritage, elegance and sense of celebration to a much wider audience,” Ms Auroux says.

There have been a number of changes at the headquarters level for Piaget in recent years including the appointment of Benjamin Comar as CEO in 2021 and Fatemeh Laleh as chief marketing officer earlier this year.

Building blocks are being put in place for a the 150th anniversary of Piaget, which falls in 2024.

Ms Gallet has spent more than 15 years in the luxury industry, first with Cartier in Germany, then L’Oreal in Switzerland before moving to Dubai to take up a role with Guerlain.

She spent almost seven years with Piaget’s Dubai operation, rising from retail manager to commercial director for Middle East & Africa.
