Perrelet Trims Its Turbine Titanium To An On-trend 41mm Case Size

Perrelet has finally embraced the trend for smaller timepieces with the release of a 41mm version of its Turbine watch in titanium.

It is the first time that the company has reduced the size of a watch in its signature collection since it was introduced in a 44mm case in 2009.

They will be presented for the first time in the UK at November’s WatchPro Salon.

Some models have been as large as 48mm, a behemoth in the current era of watches that can be worn by men and women.

Shrinking the three-hand watch has been a technical challenge, because the 12 black anodised aluminium rotating blades of the Turbine had to be re-engineered to fit the smaller case and dial.

The turbines, which have no time-telling function, spin in front of lower dials, which are offered in 10 shades for the new 41mm titanium models.

Four of the 10 come on steel bracelets with a choice of lower dial in red, green, blue or black.

There are six versions with black DLC coating on brightly coloured rubber straps with matching dials in yellow, red, green, orange, blue or black.

They are powered by a decorated in-house automatic P-331-MH calibre, which is accurate to COSC certification standards, and can be viewed via a transparent case back.

Perrelet is officially unveiling the new collection at Geneva Watch Days next week, and says it will have them on sale in September or October for $4,850.
