Omega marks 100 days until Paris Olympics with special edition Speedmaster Chronoscope

Omega, which has been official timekeeper for the Olympics since 1932, is promoting its association with one of its most accurate mechanical masterpieces.

There are 100 days to go until the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics in Paris and Omega, the event’s longstanding official timekeeper, is marking the occasion with a new Speedmaster Chronoscope in the gold, black and white colours of the games.

There are four models in the range, including a steel-on-steel piece with an anodised aluminium bezel, a second when the bezel is switched for ceramic and a piece in 18ct Moonshine gold, Omega’s own alloy that polishes-up nicely in a slightly pale yellow gold.

The 43mm watches have silvery-white opaline dials with three dark grey timing scales — tachymeter, pulsometer and telemeter — in a snail design configuration first seen in the 1940s.

“It’s the perfect tribute to the precise and all-encompassing timekeeping that Omega brings to the Olympic Games – a role it has held since 1932,” the company says.

The collection comes with closed case backs adorned with the Paris 2024 Olympics logo and the Olympic rings in relief against a frosted background.

Inside, the watch is powered by the Speedmaster Chronoscope with the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9908 / 9909.

Along with the bracelet editions, the watches can also be bought on black calfskin leather straps.

The steel piece is £9,300 on a bracelet or £8,900 on a perforated leather strap.

Moonshine Gold models are £30,900 on a leather strap or £48,500 with a gold bracelet.
