Nuval takes on Fendi in brand reshuffle

Fendi’s UK distribution has been taken on by Nuval, as part of a brand reshuffle by the distributor.

Nuval has recently dropped TechnoMarine and Carl F Bucherer and taken on Fendi, Porsche Design and Davidoff.

Nuval operating officer Chris Bedworth told WatchPro that those brands leaving the portfolio had struggled to find their place in the UK market.

The distributor has been working on signing a contract with Fendi watches, which is part owned by LVMH for the past year. The partnership is now official.

Bedworth said: "If you look at the female market, we can see that channel is flying, and Gucci is quite strong, but there is a gap and we felt that Fendi could do really well. It is a mix between fashion and high end but I still think it’s quite fashion and the price points allow it to be so."

He added that the distribution strategy for Fendi would be through a mix of multiple retailers and key independents.

Nuval is continuing to work with Philip Stein, Bedat & Co, Ball Watches, Eberhard, Graham and Metal. CH.

Additionally, as part of a focus on marketing and PR, CMJ Media has been appointed to represent Fendi timepieces and the Ball Watch Company.
