Nomos Glashütte adds smallest model yet to Metro collection

The Metro rose gold 33 has been created so that the brand can “reach all watch wearers” with a diameter of just 33 millimeters

Nomos Glashütte has added the smallest model yet to its award-winning Metro collection.

Metro rose gold 33 is just 33 millimeters in diameter with rose gold hands, grey hour markers and violent minute markers.

Inside, there is a hand-wound Alpha calibre, whilst the watch is complete with a beige velour leather strap and rose gold winged clasp.

Mark Braun, who designed the watch, said: “This watch celebrates the materiality of gold, combining it with the contemporary design details of the strap and clasp.

“It has a feminine aspect, and more warmth. With Metro rose gold 33, we are using precious metal in a modern way.”

The Metro line was first launched in 2014 and has won a host of design awards in the intervening years.

It is known for its rounded case, slender wire lugs, tapered hands, and the delicate diamond knurling on its crown.

It comes in hand-wound and automatic versions, larger and smaller versions, and with or without complications, with nearly all models featuring a stainless steel case.

The Metro rose gold 33 is the second Metro with an 18 kt rose gold case after Metro rose gold neomatik 39, which was introduced in 2017 as part of the At Work series.

The neomatik 39 measures a sizeable 39 millimeters in diameter, making it ideal for larger wrists, but Braun had something else in mind for the latest model.

He said: “We wanted to reach all watch wearers—and a smaller Metro in gold is the logical next step.”

Metro rose gold 33 is available at selected retailers from September.
