Nomos and Meistersinger scoop iF Design Awards

Nomos’s Tangente neomatik 41 and Meistersinger’s Lunascope honoured at international design event.

Nomos Glashutte and Meistersinger have again scooped top prizes at the iF Design Awards in Germany.

Nomos won the Outstanding Design Achievement gong for the way it presents the date on its Tangente neomatik 41 timepiece.

The design innovation shows the date on an outer ring of the dial that is perforated with 31 holes; one for each day of the longest months with a red market on a ring behind the dial appearing at the corresponding day’s hole.

MeisterSinger won an award for its Lunascope with an oversized moonphase that launched in 2018.

The complication is more than just a stylish addition to the dial, it is also a horological achievement because it will display the moon correctly for 128 years.

The deep blue Lunascope was singled out for the way the dial looks like a stunning night sky with the moon prominent at 12 o’clock.

The iF Design Awards are open to watches from around the world and this year received 6,400 entries from 54 countries.
