Mühle-Glashütte extends Teutonia II and 29er watch lines

First launches of 2024 are a dark GMT version of its Teutonia II watch and two fresh spring models for the 36.6mm 29er line with mint green and apricot coloured dials.

Mühle-Glashütte has two birthdays. It’s first was 155 years’ ago when Robert Mühle founded his own company in 1869 making measuring instruments for the German village’s other watchmakers.

The company went on to produce speedometers, rev counters, car clocks, nautical instruments and, eventually, watches.

Five generations of the family later and Nautische Instrumente Mühle-Glashütte re-emerged as the iron curtain fell and German unification brought freedom from the Soviet Union in 1989.

Now run by Thilo Mühle, the brand’s first launches in this double anniversary year are a dark GMT version of its Teutonia II watch and two fresh spring models for the 36.6mm 29er line with mint green and apricot coloured dials.

The 29er family of wristwatches was first launched in 2006 with its name taken from a small regatta skiff used by young sailors.

Both 42.4mm and 36.6mm models come in a range of colours. Most are three-handers with dates, but there is also a chronograph in the range.

The latest mint and apricot models, like the black and white watches in the range, use SW 200-1 movements with a special ‘woodpecker’ regulator and rotor made by Mühle.

They are on sale now for €1,450 on canvas straps of €1,600 on a bracelet.

The new Teutonia II GMT is more substantial, with a 41mm polished steel case standing 13mm hight.

The watch uses a Sellita SW 330-2 automatic movement, again upgraded with the Mühle regulator and rotor, but the deep green sunray dial is the star of the show.

It is on sale now for €2,900 on a rice link steel bracelet or €2,750 on a green or black leather strap.
