Move to America helps sales rocket for British watch brand

Hagley West says it recorded the best sales in the company’s five-year history last month with turnover of more than half a million pounds in April.

British owned watch business Hagley West says it recorded the best sales in the company’s five-year history last month with turnover of more than half a million pounds in April, more than half of its annual sales in 2022.

The results is being credited to the temporary relocation of founder and owner Tim Hayden to America along with a shift to a pre-order model to help manage ever-increasing demand.

“Passing half a million sales in April was an ambition I had, but I wasn’t sure it would be possible,” Mr Hayden tells WatchPro.

“We came to America to see what we might achieve by travelling around different cities and different states to get out and meet our audience. It’s gone better than I could ever have anticipated.”

During April, Mr Hayden hosted a simultaneous multi-platform live stream to launch two new models in its Hagley West’s Aviator range, three new Chronos and four women’s Inspiration watches.

“It seems wherever I go people are so positive about Hagley West and particularly our business ethos of #LoveYourJourney,” Mr Hayden says.

“It’s been great fun meeting so many new people and we’re really excited for the next chapter. We’ve got some really exciting plans for the next few months, including a special charity cricket event in Menorca, which we have just launched a special video to promote.”

Entrepreneur and social media influencer, Hayden, has made two previous trips to the US, hosting a number of live streams, to his more than 2 million followers and running his now #FindTim challenges.
