Montblanc races into Goodwood Festival as official timing partner

Watchmaker will open its own pop-up shop at the festival selling a limited edition Timewalker

Montblanc is on the grid for third year in a row as the Official Timing Partner of The Goodwood Festival of Speed that starts today.

The watchmaker is opening a pop-up boutique for the first time, selling watches alongside pens and other accessories.

Motoring and watchmaking have worked in step since the dawn of the automotive industry, and Minerva, which is now owned by Richemont and fused with Montblanc, has an association that can be traced back over a century.

“The link between Montblanc and racing timekeeping dates back to the forties when Minerva was setting the standard of precision and building chronographs monopusher like the Rally Timer, the ultimate instrument to celebrate Motorsport passion,” says Davide Cerrato, managing director Montblanc Watches.

Minerva’s 161-year history and its passion for motoring come together in the TimeWalker Manufacture Chronograph Limited Edition 1500.

The chronograph comes in a 43mm distressed stainless steel satin-finished case with a fixed black ceramic bezel with silvery-white engraved tachymeter scale.

The 3-hand black dial has three grey subdials at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock and date at 4 o’clock; all driven by the Montblanc Manufacture Calibre MB 25.10.

Goodwood Festival of Speed runs until Sunday, July 7.
