Miami Beach inspires summery Speake-Marin dual timer

The watch is made for a summer of lazing on Miami’s South Beach overlooked by the famous Art Deco buildings of Ocean Drive that inspired both the colour and design of the timepiece.

It is over 20 years since Londoner Peter Speake launched his eponymous brand in 2002 and more than a decade since it was acquired by current CEO and president Christelle Rosnoblet.

The watchmaker has lost none of its freshness over the years, and for 2023 is expressing its trademark boldness, style and passion in a bubble gum pink version of its One & Two dual timer.

The watch is made for a summer of lazing on Miami’s South Beach overlooked by the famous Art Deco buildings of Ocean Drive that inspired both the colour and design of the timepiece.

“With this new Dual Time Pink watch and its look that is resolutely fun and casual chic, you can escape to the other side of the planet in a short second. The dual time zone transports you for a moment of relaxation to the beaches of Miami lined with palm trees,” the company says.

The pink of the Dual Time’s open worked dial contrasts with a black DLC treatment of the watch’s titanium case, which is available in either 38mm or 42mm sizes.

The Dual Time’s dial has the second time zone on a pink and black sub dial at 9 o’clock along with small seconds and a date indicator at 2 o’clock.

Local and second location times are set with a three-position crown, while a small pusher at 7 o’clock sets the small seconds and date.

It is powered by an automatic calibre SMA02 movement with micro rotor, created and assembled at Speake-Marin’s Le Cercle des Horlogers workshop in la Chaux-de-Fonds.

The watches, which are worn on a pink rubber strap, go on sale in July for CHF 34,500 for the 38mm model and CHF 34,900 for the 42mm piece.
