Maurice de Mauriac has expanded its Züri-Date collection into a range with eight dial colours: green, turquoise, red, orange, black, white, yellow and blue.
Züri-Date launched last year as a three-handed day/date with its day displayed at the top of the dial in the Swiss German language.
Inspiration for the range of colours came from Maurice de Mauriac designer Leonard Dreifuss wanting to represent the brand’s home city of Zurich in the collection.
He landed on the idea of using the same colours as the tram system in the city.
“Suddenly the colours for the new Züri-Date edition were clear.” he recalls. “The colours of the trams, omnipresent in Zurich and the backbone of public transport within the city, inspired me.”
The watches are powered by a decorated ETA 2834-2 calibre, which is visible via an exhibition case back.
There are 39mm or 42mm steel versions of the watches, which are all sold with the choice of colour-matched leather straps or steel bracelets.
They are on sale for CHF 3,200.
