Luminox has been stealthily creeping upmarket in recent years and has secured a berth at this year’s WATCHPRO Salon to present its latest Swiss-made automatics.
Part of Switzerland’s Mondaine Group, Luminox, makes rugged mechanical and quartz-based watches for the US Navy SEALs, The Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue, Lockheed Martin’s F-117 Nighthawk stealth and other jet fighter pilots, elite forces worldwide and professional divers.

The latest addition to the high end automatic family from Luminox is the Constellation Automatic 9600, named after American aircraft giant Lockheed’s Constellation, a troop carrier and later a commercial passenger liner, which first took flight in World War II, when it was affectionately known as Connie.
The combination of high performance and design are what made this aircraft a legend in the industry and inspiration for Luminox’s newest addition to its Air Series.
The 42mm steel watch comes in four colourways: black dial with beige indicators, grey with beige or beige with black.
The black dial option has a choice of strap or steel bracelet.
They all use Selita SW 200-1 automatic movements with 38 hour power reserve, which is protected to a depth of 100 metres under water.
Luminox Constellation Automatic 9600 is on sale from this month for £899 on a leather strap or £949 for the steel bracelet version.
