Watch distributor The Blue Company is looking to recruit an experienced Territory Account Manager.

As a Territory Account Manager in the watch and jewellery business, the successful applicant will play a vital role in managing and nurturing relationships with retailers in the industry. Their primary focus will be on development of the watch brands, driving sales growth and ensuring client satisfaction. Theywill be responsible for understanding client needs, helping to develop strategic plans, and reporting regularly to leadership.

Key Account Manager Responsibilities:

A core focus is to help establish and grow the business in the UK and Ireland by developing, managing, and sustaining key accounts. As a result, you will be expected to:

  • Manage existing retailers and develop new ones in the UK and Ireland.
  • Visit existing clients in the UK and Ireland: monitor in-store standards to maintain consistency within brand guidelines. Part of your overall remit is the skilful merchandising of your brand(s) to ensure maximum impact. Cascading brand news to all within today’s retail arena is hugely important; whether that be observed consumer trends, lines shortly to gain national advertising coverage, including sharing basic selling tips to help build the confidence of sales professionals in store when dealing with customers.
  • Call regularly on the existing (and) established Retail accounts, you will provide support and training to help maximise brand(s) sales in store. You will showcase the range of branded merchandise you represent and ensure maximum stock turn of ‘bestsellers’ for the advantage of all parties. New products are frequently released, which you will enthusiastically pitch at every opportunity; emphasising the additional trading potential that each new listing could deliver.
  • You will also be responsible for the acquisition of new brand doors. This will involve identifying and following up on opportunities for possible business expansion and improved brand coverage throughout the countries. In line with this, you are expected to establish and maintain effective relationships with independent jewellers through networking with the focus of maximising brand potential.
  • Weekly planning and summary reports will be required at the end of each week to show weekly activity, progress, and plan for the coming week.
  • You may also be occasionally required to travel and represent the brand(s) outside business hours to attend/support at branded or retail events.

Key Account Manager Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sales and driving growth in a retail environment
  • Understanding of the watch and jewellery industry dynamics
  • A commitment to excellent customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including word, excel, and outlook
  • Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong timekeeping skills as you will be required to manage your own diary
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, or related field
