The UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 football championship kicked off last night with England’s lionesses securing a hard fought win over Austria.
Keeping time — as it has in its role of Official Timekeeper in the men’s game for the Euros and World Cup since 2010 and English Premier League since 2020 — is Hublot.
The watchmaker has also partnered with the FIFA Women’s World cup since 2015.
Hublot branding will be seen at all the stadia for the Women’s Euros, including the fourth official’s board for substitutions.
Ricard Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot, says the men’s and women’s game are just as important to the brand. “At Hublot, we love football; whether it is men’s or women’s football, for us it is and remains football,” he says.
“For Hublot, being a UEFA partner and sponsoring an event like UEFA Women’s Euro 2022, also means supporting the objectives of the Union of European Football Associations in its desire to increase the visibility and awareness of women’s football and double the number of registered women players by 2024,” he adds.
