Hodinkee unveils limited edition collaboration with Montblanc

Only 25 pieces have been made, and they are available for $30,000 exclusively in the Hodinkee Shop and select Montblanc boutiques in USA.

Hodinkee has unveiled the Montblanc 1858 Monopusher Limited Edition for Hodinkee, its collaboration with luxury goods manufacturer Montblanc.

The two brands have re-created a “contemporary vintage classic” that Hodinkee says combines style, proportion, and exceptional watchmaking into a timepiece that pays respect to both its heritage and modernity.

Only 25 pieces have been made, and they are available for $30,000 exclusively in the Hodinkee Shop and select Montblanc boutiques in USA.

Meanwhile every consumer to purchase the watch is invited by Hodinkee for a special trip to the Montblanc Manufactures in the Jura Mountains to visit the heart of Swiss watchmaking country.

The watch is inspired by professional sport chronographs and features a 40mm stainless steel case with a slim, sloped bezel and box-shaped sapphire crystal.

The deep black dial features a tachymeter track around the outer edge and large Arabic numerals for the hours, while cathedral style hands are replaced with an elegant pencil-style handset.

The numerals and the hands are lumed in a rich creme color that recalls the hue of decades-old radium, and the two sub-counters are slightly recessed, with a matte finish to add a touch of contrast.

Hand-wound and traditional in its architecture, the MB M13.21 chronograph movement has a column wheel and a lateral clutch; the bridges are made of rhodium-plated German silver, and the wearer will notice the signature arrow-shaped tail on the  column wheel lever.

Every component, visible and not, is finished to the highest level, with chamfered edges highlighting both grained and polished surfaces., while everything except the jewels and a  few of the screws is made and assembled right in Villeret.
