Hindman is strengthening its watch auctions department with the appointment of Reginald Brack as senior vice-president and director of Jewellery & Watches.
Mr Brack will oversee his first Hindman sale with with the high-profile auction of an incredible watch collection owned by Glen de Vries, an American entrepreneur who made his fortune in medical sciences and technology.
In addition to his passion for watch collecting, Mr de Vries is also obsessed with space travel, and was on board on of the earliest sub-orbital flights of Blue Origin, sharing the journey with William Shatner of Star Trek fame.
Mr Brack is a veteran of the luxury watch industry. Previous roles included a spell as senior vice-president and international head of retail for watches at Christie’s, where he launched and managed both the private sales program and the e-commerce business.
His was founding general manager of watches at StockX, a trading platform for luxury goods and executive director for watches and luxury at The NPD Group (now Circana) where he provided data and market insight to brand and retail executives.

There will be around 100 lots in the Hindman auction titled Time & Space: Watches from the Collection of Glen de Vries.

The auction takes place online and at Hindman’s New York salesroom on October 18.
