H. Moser & Cie and MB&F have combined forces to secure a prime location at this year’s Watches & Wonders exhibition at the end of April.

It is a rare slice of good news for the Swiss watch exhibition industry, which has endured months of reporting on brands pulling out of its big two shows.

H. Moser & Cie. and MB&F have both exhibited at the Geneva show, formerly known as SIHH, since 2016. But they were in the Carré des Horlogers, which houses small independent brands in an area away from the major Richemont-owned giants such as Cartier and IWC.

Moser makes around 1,500 watches per year, the company’s CEO Edouard Meylan (pictured above left with MB&F CEO Max Büsser) told WatchPro this week, but wants to double production to around 3,000 watches in the next three to five years.

MB&F currently makes just over 200 watches, but most have six-figure price tags.

They will exhibit side-by-side in a 300 square meter space that would previously have been taken by Hermes, Audemars Piguet or Richard Mille, which have all left Watches & Wonders this year.

“Attending Watches & Wonders Geneva alongside the major watch brands is an amazing achievement, and one which forms part of our global development strategy. The Carré des Horlogers was a magnificent opportunity for us, acting as a kind of incubator and creating an extremely positive dynamic. We are continuing our growth, ready for this new step which will accompany and support the launch of a new line of products and the opening of a number of boutiques across the world, Mr Meylan says.
