Call them boomboxes or ghetto blasters, Casio G-Shock is taking inspiration from the hip hop music players of the 1990s with a fresh series of GA140 analog-digital watches.
They come in the same big case design as the brand’s GA100/110 series infused with a new deep dial design inspired by 90’s instruments.
The updated dial includes an analog speed indicator sub-dial at the 3 o’clock position and LCD displays encircling the hour and minute hands.
Four of the five timepieces, which are on sale now for $99, have positive LCD displays while the fifth features a reverse LCD display.
The collection comes in a variety of colorways including black (GA140-1A1), black with red and orange accents (GA140-1A4), blue (GA140-2A), red and gray (GA140-4A), and purple (GA140-6A).
Features and functions include G-Shock’s statement shock, magnetic field and water resistance, world time in 48 cities, four daily alarms and one snooze, a 1/1000 second stopwatch, speed indicator, countdown timer and 12/24 hour time formats.
