Frederique Constant has extended its Runabout Automatic watch collection with two stainless steel limited editions, one with gold plating, the other without.
888 of each will be produced.
The Runabout was launched back in 2009 as a tribute to historic wooden boats of the same name that plied their trade on Italy’s Lakes and now take place in heritage events including this month’s Geneva Riva Days.
The legendary yachts, initially hand-crafted entirely from wood, continue to evoke the glamor and easy-going dolce vita of 1960s Italy.
2022 Frederique Constant Runabout automatics come in 42mm cases sizes housing FC-303 movements, which are displayed through a crystal case back.
Their black dials are decorated in delicate guilloché Clous de Paris style.
Each piece will be presented in a special case containing a miniature replica of one of these iconic wooden yachts moored alongside the watch.
The gold plated version is retailing for £1,820 while the all-steel piece is £1,395.
