Favre-Leuba ‘starts new chapter’ for Chief watch collection

The Swiss watch brand, which has a history spanning more than 282 years, is to introduce a new 40mm size for its Sky Chief Date

Favre-Leuba watches is to launch its popular Sky Chief Date in a new 40mm size this autumn.

The Swiss watch brand, which has a history spanning more than 282 years, is adding to its Chief collection with the ‘start of a new chapter’ for the model, which has been available in 43mm size since 2016.

The current collection comprises: Sky Chief Chronograph 43mm with rosegold bezel, Sky Chief Date 43 mm and now the Sky Chief Date 40 mm.

The signature Favre-Leuba elements derived from the watches from 1950s and 1960s have been drawn into a contemporary look that creates the link between the past to a strong identity for today.

The differentiated tetradecagonal bezel contributes to the watch’s technical character.

The retro-futuristic round shaped case has the distinctive and graceful bridge that can be seen from the side view.

Bold hands and indexes make these watches stand out as true Favre-Leuba design classics.

Favre-Leuba engineer Urs Gottsheu explains: “I believe the Chief Date, is a distinctive yet broadly appealing classic watch. Sky Chief Date 40 has a strong character but doesn’t overpower the individual. It allows the stage to the wearer, keeping them and their style as the priority. It’s your humble but dignified companion.”

The Sky Chief Date has a strong 40mm stainless steel case, screwed and aligned case back, water-resistance down to 100m, and a dial protected by anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

The model is available with dials in deep black and anthracite with a variety of strap options.

Favre-Leuba is the second oldest active Swiss watch brand, with a rich heritage in watch engineering and designing spanning over 282 years.

Led by eight generations of the Favre family until the 1980s, Favre-Leuba was acquired by the Tata Group on November 16th, 2011.
