eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee, which ensures every watch sold for more than £2,000 on the platform is thoroughly checked by an expert on its way from seller to buyer, is significantly improving trust within the watch collecting community.
Helping to get that message across is a new series of social media videos that bring together professional watch traders, all of which are major collectors and experts in their own right.
eBay Sellers’ Club launched on Instagram last month with its first video featuring three American watch experts: Rich Reichbach of Time Titans, Oren Charisky of La Jolla Jewelry, and Eric Ku of LA WatchWorks.
In the debut episode they discuss iconic watches like the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch and Rolex Rainbow Daytona, as they take a deep dive into their personal favourites and their experience buying and selling watches on eBay.
During the film, shot inside a 1920s-built decommissioned bank vault in Los Angeles, the trio identify current trends that have a way to run including integrated bracelets, smaller watch sizes and the never-ending challenge of shortages for unicorn watches from the likes of Rolex, Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe.
