Corum’s Admiral watch collection is more than 60 years’ old, but it is getting a thoroughly modern makeover for 2021 with an Openworked Flying Tourbillon piece in a black carbon case flecked with 18ct gold.

The watch retains Corum’s signature 12-sided dodecagonal-shaped bezel, this time in the same black carbon and gold as the 45mm case.

It is being produced in a limited run of just 48 units.

Corum developed the automatic CO 298 flying tourbillon movement in house.

The openworked movement is visible on both the dial side and through a crystal caseback so that the meticulously finished components, bridges and the rotating flying tourbillon escapement are all on show.

Despite the sophistication of the watchmaking, Corum has ensured that the watch is still fit for life at sea.

It comes on a strap made from rubber and synthetic textiles with genuine gold stitching and is water resistant to 100 meters.

It is on sale now for $59,800.
