Christopher Ward has extended its Military Collection of watches, which are made under license from the the Ministry of Defense.
New C63 Colchester watches are inspired by the British Army’s Parachute Regiment, and named after its headquarters.
It joins the C60 Lympstone, C65 Dartmouth, C65 Sandhurst and C65 Cranwell to make up Christopher Ward’s licensed Military Collection.
Every split second and every gram count in the life of a Para, which is why Christopher Ward has opted to use its Sealander Elite as a base watch, but made it with a carbon case and dial.
This has allowed the watch to weigh in at just 38 gram, the lightest ever launched by Christopher Ward.
It is also aerodynamic thanks to a crown that can be pushed in flush to the 41mm case.
“When they’re jumping out of a plane, the Paras need kit that’s strong and light. That’s why we chose the C63 Sealander Elite as the template for the C63 Colchester. It struck both us and the regiment that weight, durability, strength, comfort and technicality were critical. And the Elite delivered all that,” says Mike France, CEO & co-founder at Christopher Ward.
The C63 Colchester has an interesting case back with a solid centre where the Parachute Regiment’s badge is embossed. This sits on a transparent ring so that some of the movement (a COSC-certified Sellita SW200) can be seen.
Prices for the watch, which comes on a range of straps or a steel bracelet, start at £995.
