The Alliance of British Watch and Clock Makers, an organisation formed last year to promote watchmaking in the UK, has forged a strategic partnership with the Horological Society of New York (HSNY), one of the world’s oldest and largest watchmaking associations; founded in 1866.
HSNY and The Alliance will work in tandem to bring their members access to special events and educational opportunities, including HSNY’s monthly lectures and exclusive brand presentations, and the Alliance’s Open Dial events.
Alistair Audsley, executive director of The Alliance, says the partnership with HSNY is another step along the journey to put British watchmakers on the map. “So far we have already welcomed nearly 60 British watch and clock brands as trade members. We’ve joined the Economic Sector Panel of the Government’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to provide a voice for our sector on policy and we’re looking forward to supporting export trade initiatives. We’re at a pivotal moment for Britain’s sector and this partnership with the HSNY is another significant milestone for us. We’re also delighted to be able to offer access to HSNY’s fantastic calendar of informative events to our trade and club members,” he explains.
