Bremont Watch Company was announced as a winner of HSBC’s Southwest and Wales Regional Global Connections initiative to find the UK’s most innovative and forward-thinking companies.
The British watch brand, along with Bristol’s organic herb company Pukka Herbs, was selected from six regional finalists.
Bremont co-founder Giles English accepted the award from ITV News presenter Katie Derham at an awards dinner at Wales’ Celtic Manor last night, after a day of presenting to the Global Connections’ panel of judges.
English said: "We’re honoured and humbled to win this because they were some amazing businesses we were up against. It is excellent recognition for the business and everyone behind it.
"We’re busy trying to grow abroad and being able to go into new markets with the HSBC Global Connections behind us and their emphasis on international business, it means a lot to us.”
Bremont and Pukka Herbs will now go on to compete in the national Global Connections Final against eight other companies from around the UK in June.
HSBC Southwest and Wales regional commercial director Gary Burton said: “This was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the best, most entrepreneurial and forward thinking business leaders in the region. It was a privilege to get to know a group of such inspiring businesses and to choose two winners was a great challenge for the judging panel.
"Bremont and Pukka Herbs were chosen for their conviction in what they are doing, their innovation and the clarity of vision they have for taking their businesses forward.”
More than 1,500 companies in the UK entered the Global Connections initiative, which aims to support pioneering UK businesses that show inventive ambitions and want to expand on a global scale.
Bremont has recently ventured on an International Exchange visit to Singapore, which is considered one of the world’s most dynamic markets for business growth opportunities.
