Lancashire based Peter Jackson the Jeweller, which has been presenting a watch to the Man of the Match at every Blackburn Rovers home game for 30 years, is now going to give the same prize to the Player of the Match at every Blackburn Rovers Ladies home fixture.
The Ladies team celebrated the news with a visit to Peter Jackson’s showroom.
“The whole Blackburn community is proud of the achievements of the Ladies team. They are an inspiration to the growing number of girls playing grass roots football and it is a privilege for our company to be supporting them,” said the company’s founder and managing director Peter Jackson MBE.
“We are very much looking forward to working with [team manager] Gemma Donnelly and the Ladies in the new season.”
Ms Donnelly added: “It’s fantastic to have Peter Jackson the Jeweller team up with us this season. It will be very special to further boost our already tremendous support from Peter and for the players to receive a Player of the Match award.”
