Baume & Mercier pushes its Baumatic family upmarket

M0A10547 is not an inexpensive model, at CHF 13,800, but you do get a watch with day, date and moonphase complications in a solid 18ct rose gold case.

Baume & Mercier’s best selling point is that you get Richemont’s advanced watchmaking skills and experience distilled into the group’s least expensive watches.

The Baumatic BM14 in-house calibre is central to this positioning, and is used in an extension to the Clifton Baumatic collection this year, the M0A10547.

This not an inexpensive model, at CHF 13,800, but you do get a watch with day, date and moonphase complications on a grey lacquered dial housed in a solid 18ct rose gold case measuring 42mm across.

The watch has sapphire crystal on the front and back.

The exhibition caseback reveals the movement with its 18ct oscillating weight.

“We are delighted to unveil an evolution of the Clifton Baumatic range in the form of a new moon phase complication that also features a day-date function. Since its launch, the in-house Richemont designed and manufactured Baumatic movement has become a significant part of our business in the UK, representing almost 22% of our total sell-through. Not only is the movement exclusive to Baume & Mercier, it also has offers significant benefits for the customer in terms of durability, reliability and precision timekeeping,” says Baume & Mercier UK’s Marcus Braybrook.
