G-Shock produces bright golden version of its ‘Casioak’ GM-B2100

G-Shock is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and is promising a slew of crowd pleasing releases for its rapidly growing base of fans and collectors.

First up is a golden addition to its 2100 family — known ubiquitously as the Casioak on social media for its passing resemblance to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak — which go on sale on March 1.

The GM-B2100GD-9A watch, with its iconic octagonal bezel, is being released in yellow gold IP for the first time, but joins a range of striking metallic coloured models.

The 2100 collection first hit stores in 2019 and become an instant bestseller for its slimmer, more contemporary styling than more muscular models in the rugged G-Shock portfolio.

The GM-B2100 line, introduced in the summer of last year, took the same architecture, but used stainless steel for exterior components such as the the bezel, band, and screw-back case.

Combining yellow gold and black has been a hot trend over the past year, making the latest Casioak a sure fire winner.

The mirror- and brush-finished gold IP is not only used on the case, bracelet and bezel, it also brightens the watch’s hands, hour markers and even its digital displays.

It has all the usual features and functionality of the GM-B2100 collection including solar charging for infinite battery life, tethering to a mobile app that keeps it running to perfect time as well as making it easy to set alarms, world time and other functions from a phone.

  1. After they’ve messed up the BEST! The silver one! By not adding Any contrast on the hands.

Fast forward and Casio thought is better to add some on the golden version. Amazing!

    Good job Casio!
