A rare 20th anniversary version of Phillipe Dufour’s Simplicity is coming to the open market this week for the very first time through London-based specialist A Collected Man.

Only 20 of the minimalist piece were created, two decades after they were first made in 2000.

Number 00 of 20 was auctioned by Phillips in 2022, securing a price of CHF 1,361,000.

The remainder of the run were made available to a small group of dedicated enthusiasts.

Only seven of the anniversary run were made with a platinum case and blue dial, and the piece going on sale this Friday, June 30, is the first in this configuration to be offered for sale.

It is also unusual in that it has a brushed platinum case and hinged officer’s caseback instead of a plain exhibition back.

Its dial has Breguet-style numerals and a centre section decorated with a guilloché pattern.

A Collected Man is advertising the watch with an asking price of $1.3 million.
