Salvatore Ferragamo highlights its Florentine roots in SS17 Gilio watch collection

Salvatore Ferragamo Gilio

Salvatore Ferragamo Timepieces has taken inspiration from the Florentine fleur-de-lis for its SS17 Gilio collection.

The collection has pieces presented in pink and black, both with the watch face and the strap created from Italian calf leather with gold details.

The 32mm case is made from steel plated in gold, and houses a quartz Ronda movement.

The lugs and the indexes at 6 and 12 o’clock have tiny elements in the shape of a lily, the symbol of Florence.

The name Giglio is the Italian name for the fleur-de-lis and is an official crest of Florence, where Mr Ferragamo was born.

The Gilio Collection went on sale in March priced at £860.
