Maurice Lacroix returns to openwork technique for its 2018 Aikon Automatic Skeleton

Maurice Lacroix has added a complicated skeletonised model to its Aikon family.

The Aikon Automatic Skeleton, according to the company, manages to meet its mandate of producing of high quality timepieces at an affordable price, deeply rooted in  urban  and  contemporary  culture.

Openwork timepieces are not new to Maurice Lacroix, having first experimented with the technique for its Calypso Skeleton in 1993.

The 2018 Aikon has a slightly wider case that makes space for the new automatic Maurice Lacroix manufacture ML234 calibre, which is designed along similar lines to an Aikon quartz model that first appeared in 2016.

The steel watch is 45mm wide and 13mm thick, making it both masculine and wearable.

The case and watch attach to each other without lugs, and with a new Easychange system that lets the owner swap a steel bracelet for a leather strap in moments.
