Kate Spade joins the fashion set creating smart connected watches

Kate Spade has joined a growing number of fashion labels launching hybrid watches and fitness trackers.

Its debut collection features three pieces that all receive notifications and include sleep and activity trackers.

“The smartwatch and two trackers have the functionality to track one’s activities and sleep with the Kate Spade New York connected app, the ability to count down the days, hours and minutes until an event, as well as such features as music control, self-snapping, time-zone updates and notification technology. The battery-operated trackers never require charging. The smartwatch and trackers are iPhone and Android-compatible.” according to its website.

Last year, Fossil Group Inc. and Kate Spade & Co. signed a global licensing agreement for the design, development and distribution of Kate Spade New York watches through 2025.

The hybrid smartwatch is fitted with an analogue face and a display for app notifications.

The two fitness bangles also have a touchscreen but only to display activity information, not app notifications.

The bangle tracker will be offered in gold-tone and white mother of pearl, stainless steel and white mother of pearl and rose gold-tone and pink cat’s eye.

The silicone tracker is available in solid, glitter, stripe, dot and cat-ear variations.

The collection is currently only on sale in the US priced at $250 for the hybrid and $125-150 for the tracker.

The silicone tracker will be available in September but the bangle and smartwatch arrive in October in the UK.
