Leicestershire Police earns millions as online Rolex retailer

Leicestershire’s Police force is raising money from the sale of luxury Swiss watches and other items seized from criminals in the area.

The force has created an eBay store where it is raising thousands of pounds from the sale of products bought from the proceeds of criminal activity.

The police are not allowed to sell stolen goods, but they are allowed to raise money from goods that criminals have bought with the money from their illegal activities.

“Sale items are a direct result of court proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA). They are legitimate purchased goods, only the means to purchase was corrupt. Stolen property will not knowingly be offered for sale here,” Leicestershire Police explains on its eBay page.

Almost 3000 items have already sold on the eBay page including a Rolex Submariner, which went for £4650 and an 18ct gold Rolex Skydweller that reached £21,600.
