eBay and Vogue curate watch and jewellery auction to highlight the sustainability of pre-owned luxuries

The online auction is titled Decades of Authenticity, and proceeds of the sale are being donated to Canopy Planet Foundation, a non-profit accelerator firm that funds organisations protecting the future of our planet by keeping forests standing.

If anybody still questions the symbiotic relationship between new and used goods in the luxury market, just look to the world’s ultimate arbiter of high fashion, Vogue, which has partnered with eBay to highlight the sustainability of giving a second, third or fourth life to watches and jewellery.

Vogue and eBay have curated an online sale offering the chance to buy luxury accessories seen throughout decades on the pages or the fashion bible.

The online auction is titled Decades of Authenticity, and proceeds of the sale are being donated to Canopy Planet Foundation, a non-profit accelerator firm that funds organizations protecting the future of our planet by keeping forests standing.

The auction ends on Sunday, September 24.

eBay and Vogue have selected three iconic archival images from past decades of Vogue and given people the opportunity to recreate the look from the items on sale at the Decades of Authenticity auction.

There are three watches in the sale.

Audemars piguetFirst up is a 33mm vintage Audemars Piguet ladies dress watch in 18ct gold, a cream dial with diamond hour markers and a golden mesh bracelet.

Vacheron constantinVacheron Constantin’s contribution is another 18ct gold dress watch, this time a little more discreet at 30mm but with a stunning textured dial framed by a decorated gold bezel.

Cartier pasha 2Cartier is represented by a classic 38mm 18ct yellow gold Pasha with a pale dial on a gold linked bracelet.
