Breitling will be in its usual spot at the heart of Hall 1.0 at this year’s Baselworld, but its major presentation will be outside the show at what it is calling the Baselworld Summit on the evening of the first day, Thursday, March 21.
The summit takes place in a new business and residential quarter of Basel known as Dreispitz.
In the past, Breitling has been famous for hosting spectacular and raucous parties at Baselworld, but the tone of the invitation to its summit is more businesslike.
“The evening will incorporate Breitling’s plans for the next year and be a showcase for their Baselworld launches,” the invitation says.
The watchmaker’s CEO Georges Kern said last year during a roadshow that took in New York and London that he preferred the format of hosting his own events to the mega fair of Basel, but still committed to exhibiting at the show at least in 2019.
