It is a huge year for Speedmaster, Omega’s iconic sports watch, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2017.
Two models have been revealed ahead of Baselworld, but expect to see a raft of models in a top to bottom celebration of the icon.
What we have seen so far is a 38mm ladies model with cappuccino colours and a diamond-studded bezel, and a 44.25mm driver’s model in black, silver and orange.
The ladies 38mm edition has a two colour dial with brown oval subdials on a latte-coloured face. The case, hands and indexes have all been made from 18ct rose gold. The watch houses an Omega Calibre 3330, which uses a silicon balance spring.
The men’s stainless steel Speedmaster Automatic is a classic driver’s watch with a matt black dial with hands and markers featuring 18ct white gold, white Supernova-Luminova and orange. It is carried by a black leather strap that is perforated to reveal orange rubber below. The watch houses a chronograph-certified caliber 99000.
