Chopard makes a splash with aquatic-inspired timepiece

Swiss watchmaker and jewellery brand Chopard has turned to the sea for inspiration for its latest collection of wristwatches.

The Happy Fish collection, which features textured mother-of-pearl and luminescent moving diamonds, is limited to 250 pieces.

In the dial centre is a model fish, designed to remain discreet by day, but lighting up after dark.

Five free-moving diamonds, which are also luminescent at night, ‘dance as if is in one of the world’s most precious aquariums.’

The Happy Fish collection features a navy blue alligator leather strap, designed to bring out the colors of the dial. Setting the cadence for this aquatic ballet is a self-winding movement housed in a steel case.

As of July 2018, all new Chopard watches and jewellery will be produced in ethical gold. With its new interpretations of twist bangles and twist rings featuring hearts in diamonds, mother of pearl, opal and onyx, Happy reaffirming the brand’s commitments.

The brand will source its gold from two different avenues: Artisanal freshly mined gold from small-scale mines participating in the Swiss Better Gold Association (SBGA), Fairmined and Fairtrade schemes, as well as RJC Chain of Custody gold, through Chopard’s partnership with RJC-certified refineries.
