Festina Group’s decision to skip exhibiting at Baselworld for the first time in 25 years has been a positive step, according to the company’s UK distributor Unique & Co.
“They took the decision after realising that many other brands will not exhibit there anymore and that Basel shrunk by over 50%,” according to Unique & Co director Daniel Ozel.
Festina Group, home to watch brands Candino, Jaguar, Lotus and Festina, took all of its key accounts for all-expenses-paid 5-star weekend in the company’s home city of Barcelona a week before Baselworld, where they were treated to trips to football matches at FC Barcelona or Athletico Bilbao, spa experiences, cooking courses and sporting activities.
A visit to the Festina Logistics centre was also in the schedule of the weekend dubbed The Revolution Trade Show.
The highlight was a gala dinner with Festina brand ambassadors Gerard Butler and Miss France Maëva Couckeas were guests of honour and the Gispy Kings band was playing live.
Gerard Butler was confirmed as an ongoing brand ambassador for Festina and fellow Hollywood star Megan Fox will continue as the face of Lotus Watches.
Festina in the UK will continue its association with competitive cycling by sponsoring events the nationwide Tour Series of road races that kicks of in May, the Woman’s Tour and the Tour of Britain.
