Zenith and Land Rover reveal latest collaborative timepiece at Geneva Motor Show

Zenith and Land Rover have used the Geneva International Motor Show to launch the Chronomaster El Primero Range Rover Velar Special Edition.

The watch is being seen for the first time at the launch of Land Rover’s luxury Velar version of its Range Rover.

The timepiece has a brushed grey dial with copper-toned details, and a black rubber strap coated with black-toned perforated calfskin, inspired by ideas from both brands’ product design and engineering departments.

Jean-Claude Biver, Zenith CEO & President of the LVMH Watch Division, used the opportunity of the launch to make a mission statement for Zenith, which he took over control of at the end of 2017. “Zenith is the ultimate reference for chronometry (precision timekeeping), having won 2,333 chronometer prizes. The authentic Manufacture is a major player in the Swiss watch industry. Zenith stands for Art, Tradition, Culture and above all, produces real and authentic “museum quality” models at nonetheless affordable prices. It is essential that we preserve these qualities, as they all belong to the more than 150-year DNA of Zenith. We are here not just to run a company, but also to serve its brand history and DNA – just as Range Rover is doing. The main task and challenge we have in common is a determination to protect our tradition, but at the same time to find the right and harmonious way of connecting our tradition to the future, while showing extreme respect for our iconic products.”

The Chronomaster El Primero Range Rover Velar Special Edition is housed in a 42mm aluminium case housing an El Primero 400B, automatic movement with a 50 hour power reserve.
